"Easter Egg" In Sneak Peek Chapter

Hi Cake Decorators,

I just added something to the Sneak Peek chapter that you might find interesting. If you download it now, you'll be good to go. If you downloaded the chapter before yesterday, March 2nd, you'll need to download the chapter again to see it. I won't tell you what it is, but here's a hint: One of the links in the sneak peek chapter is now live.

When you find it, let me know what you think! I look forward to your feedback.

All the best,
Michael

WOW!!!
A video tip! I loved the book, but a video is a whole new ball game - I hope this means more are on their way???

When I see something done live, I totally get it right away - no need to reread the instructions four times... Um, I hope I'm not the only one who needs to reread these things...

Anyway Michael, great idea! Give us more!

The video clip works well - good idea.

Tips for cooking centre of cakes are interesting. Where would I find a baking strip, flower nail or a metal core? - I have not seen anything like these in our shops.

Outstanding! Video looks great on my PC! I love the idea of having a book with such great help as a video clip. Much better sometimes, than having to imagine the task.

Tips are great as well!

The video worked great on my PC, and those are some great ideas. I have used the pin-on strips and they work quite well.
Since I have a few flower nails kicking around I'll have to try that next time.

Looks good! Re greasing pan: Pan coat that works great: 2 Tbsp. veg oil, 2 Tbsp. Crisco, 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar. Mix and brush on pan. You don't even have to use a knife to get cake out of pan. It falls right out.

Great video - great tip. I will definitly try both. Thanks

The video clip was clear and very informative. I plan on trying both of the tips. But, I have a question, once you remove a heater core from your cake how or what do you cover the hole with once it is removed? The same question would pertain to the flower nail.

Thanks for all your tips and keep up the good work!

The video is so helpful to watch. I am a visual learner, and seeing someone "in action" is great! It really complements the wonderful instructions your e-book provides.

Please put more video clips in your upcoming new e-books, Michael!

Video tips are a great idea. But, I agree with Sabrina Rose, the video was a bit "jerky". Other than that, the tips were great and the idea is wonderful!

Yep, the video is indeed great, even worked well on my mac. Even after taking other classes in this area, I had never run across the flower nail trick. I'll have to try it, as I find the heating core rather tricky to use.

Cool video clip. I think this would be very handy to have, but have it more on the techniques in your book instead of just on how to use a tool... there are some things you just can't show a picture for, and for this, I think a short clip like that would be great!

Thanks again,

Well I agree with many of the others being able to see someone do something is definately better than having to imagine how it's suppose to be done. I also have questions. If I try the core idea, how high do you need to fill it and will it create a sinkage in the middle of the cake? Can you use this with a rectangular cake as well?

The video was great, the "Host" was a pleasure to watch, the camera was to jerkey, need to pan out, and of course the tips were great.

The video is a great idea. Things are so much easier to follow when you can see it live. The picture was clear and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I think the video needs to be slowed a little especially the part which talks about the core and the nail. The video keeps going back and fourth from instructor to the objects too quickly.

The video is great because by watching a pro have some difficulty in putting on the edger thing...it hit home to do it before the batter went in.

Also it was nice to hear of some alternatives in both baking even edges and baking in the middle.

Video looks great.

Excellent! I did have some problems when trying to view using Netscape as my browser (it just wouldn't play), but when accessing with Internet Explorer the video was instant.

Might I suggest adding additional text advising users that if the video doesn't work w/ Netscape, they should try with IE.

Great job. I'll be looking for more videos real soon. :)
